Memphis Botanic Gardens Celebrates Memphis Bicentennial
In honor of Memphis' 200 year milestone, the Memphis Botanic Garden has installed a new celebratory planting. Called the Bicentennial Blues Bed, this new, year-long planting opened this week and is located just outside of the Four Seasons Garden and easily in view of the thousands of guests who visit to the Garden each week.
“The Mississippi River is the heart of Memphis”, said Rick Pudwell; Director of Horticulture for the Memphis Botanic Garden. “For that reason, we made the river the centerpiece of a new bed of plantings honoring our City and its 200th birthday”, said Pudwell.

Memphis Herb Society- Virtual Garden Tour & Book Exchange
We have all wondered what beautiful treasures lie beyond some garden gates. Those treasures will always be a work in progress as seasons change or as the gardener tries a new design or new plant material. Regrettably, not all of us have been able to attend the wonderful tours given by the Memphis Master Gardeners or by the Cooper-Young residents. Besides, we may be interested in what our fellow herbies are up to.

There will also be a Book Exchange that evening, for those who are interested. Bring a book on gardening, better yet, a book about herb gardening that you would like to trade. Bring two books or more!! This can be a fun way to refresh our gardening library and our imaginations! Socializing at 6:30 pm, the program begins at 7 pm. Guests $5.
