2022 Recipients

The Mary Wade Memphis Area Master Gardeners Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the 2022 recipients.

This year we are initiating a mentoring process for our recipients. First, identifying each individuals specific interest and pairing them with a specific professional in their area of interest. Second, one of our committee members will continue to maintain contact with them as they progress through their education.

2022 Scholarships

The Memphis Area Master Gardener’s Scholarship Program was created to encourage and foster the love of gardening and awareness of the Master Gardener’s program in future generations.

MAMG offered four $2000 scholarships in 2022.
Applications are Closed.

1. College bound high school seniors from Shelby County, TN interested in pursuing a career in agriculture, environmental sciences, horticulture, landscape, and related fields of study. Applying students need to be involved in school horticulture related activities or organizations such as Future Farmers of America or Sierra Club. The applicant must be accepted to a university, a college, or a community college.

2. Currently enrolled college students, who are pursuing a degree in the fields of agriculture, environmental sciences, horticulture, landscape architecture and/or related fields may apply, including past recipients of the MAMG Mary Wade Scholarship.

Deadline for applications wass Friday, April 1, 2022.

Application for 2021 High School Graduates Is Closed

The Memphis Area Master Gardeners Association is offering two competitive $2000.00 scholarships to college – bound high school seniors interested in career s in agricultural, environmental sciences, horticultural, landscape and related fields of study. Students must be enrolled in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science programs or a related field of study and /or be involved in school clubs such as garden clubs, Future Farmers of America, or Sierra Club at their high school. The student applicant must be accepted to a college, university, or community
college.

Students residing and attending school in Shelby County may apply.

Scholarship Program Guidelines

The Memphis Area Master Gardener’s Scholarship Program was created to encourage and foster the love of gardening and awareness of the Master Gardener’s program in future generations. MAMG offers $2,000 scholarships to Shelby County residents graduating from high school and accepted to a college or currently enrolled college students (past recipients of MAMG Mary Wade Scholarship) who are pursuing degrees in the fields of agriculture, environmental sciences, horticulture, landscape architecture and/or related fields. Students must be enrolled in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science programs such as garden clubs, Future Farmers of America, or Sierra Club.
