| We’ll go over the essential aspects of foraging and mushroom hunting to get you started and build confidence. Our discussion will give you tips and answer questions about safety, tools to use, specimen identification, using a field guide, helpful resources, and simply where and when to start.
Kevin Lewis grew up in Shelby Forest. Having a fascination with nature and a curious mind, he taught himself a variety of skills including foraging. Kevin enjoys sharing his love of mushrooms by teaching and encouraging a start in the most primitive of all skills, foraging. Because he had such difficulty starting his own journey in mushroom hunting, Kevin started the Facebook group Memphis Mushroom Foragers to help others in this area get started and gain confidence and experience in hunting mushrooms.
